Let me preface by saying that my issues were of my own making, and I promise to be the poster child of dental hygiene moving forward. This being said, I was highly anxious going in to my first checkup, and even _more_ anxious when told that said cleaning would need to happen over two future appointments, due to fourteen years of neglect. So the first deep cleaning of that series happened today, with my anxious shaking self. Was it pleasant? Absolutely not, but that’s the result of my neglect. But I will say, it could have been much, much worse.
What I saw from everyone who was working was empathy. Everyone seemed to understand my fears, the anxiety, and other issues that happened (without going into much detail). So as I recover from half of my mouth being very sore, I will say this as a motivator: I’m halfway complete, and not only willing to go back again, but willing to see the same person who started this work.
